The Mauser M48 is a bolt-action rifle with a five-round internal magazine and a chambering for the 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm) cartridge used by the German military through both world wars. It has a typical Mauser style tangent rear sight adjustable in 100-meter increments from 200 to 2000 meters. The Zastava M48 is a post-World War II Yugoslav version of the Belgian-designed M24 series with some influence from the German Karabiner 98k.
